The 2009/2010 committee are pleased to present our new look website. Watch this space for content updates and new features! Or visit the Events page for the latest information on what is going on.
Launched back in January 2008 the Junior Lawyers Division (JLD), the JLD is a division of the Law Society with an independent voice. This free membership group is aimed at trainees, solicitors with up to five years' active PQE and the budding student members of the Law Society enrolled through the SRA.
As your local JLD group our role is to facilitate the interaction of trainees in the local area. By organising various events, both social and career oriented, our aim is to provide trainees with a network of friends and future business contacts.
Your JLD is a valuable link for trainees from smaller firms to meet and get to know other trainees and often provides a useful point of reference for the dissemination of legal information and experiences.
Visit our facebook page - you can add us as a friend. Just search for Suffolk Junior Lawyers or join the group Suffolk and North Essex Junior Lawyers Division.
Shelter Quiz
This years annual quiz will be held on Thursday 13 May 2010 from 19:00. Send a list of people and maybe even a team name to SNEJLD to confirm attendance by the 5 May 2010. We welcome teams of no more than 6 people. Please support this event, and help the Committee raise as much money as possible for Shelter, the housing charity, in its bid to protect more families from the danger of homelessness.
The Law Society finally enters into the MP's legal aid debate. Read the full press release here.
From the 1 April 2010 there will be only ONE route for solicitors to take to gain their higher rights of audience, for more information the full press release is here.
